The sign says the Howling Hops "Tank Bar" is open, lucky you. With hours of operation on each day of the week, it's not just the fact that they're open which has brought you good fortune. Nope, it's because they even exist at all and your day is about to level up. What exactly is a tank bar you may ask? From a consumption perspective, it's a seamless beer delivery system that eliminates all extraneous vessels between where the brewing process ends and your glass begins. So, at Howling Hops, you will have the distinct ability to sample extremely fresh creations directly from the source. Particular standouts on the most recent visit included the Pale Ale and New England IPA. Match those up with BBQ and beerhall-like communal tables? Yes, please.
Why is this on THL?
Quite honestly, most of us never tire of hearing success stories such as that of Howling Hops. From their early beginnings as a fledgling brewing operation (within a pub basement), to their new and vibrant brewery atmosphere in Hackney, the results of pure devotion are all in full view here for us to appreciate. Beer enthusiasts will enjoy having 10 tanks to choose from, and the doors open at 12:00 every day of the week. Similar to Crate Brewery, which is literally right next door in this cul-de-sac, this place can get quite active as the day moves along. With a rather sizable interior space, and a patio for the summer months, they're ready for volume and the friendly staff handles it in tremendous fashion.
