The full pour
Literally translated to "The Fine Foam," this now notorious beer bar in Paris' 11th district is dripping with good sensibilities. Of course that terrible pun is in direct reference to not only the fine beer (avec mousse) flowing there, but also the superb crew and ambience that await you. To many, la fine Mousse is the one that enabled Paris to turn the craft beer corner, the proverbial spark for the many flames flourishing around the city today. Whether or not you agree with that could easily be sorted out over a beer or two at the source. You tell me.
This nerve center of Parisian beer culture was established in 2012. While one could make the argument that it took this city a tad bit longer than others to embrace the new era of craft brewing, it's quite clear that they are making up for lost time. The magical formula here at LFM is simple, but quite effective. There are 20 taps, with particular emphasis on French choices, and a laid-back vibe that would give San Diego beer bars a run for their money. Yes, this is in Paris, and you now have a very distinctive beer bar to come experience.
why is this on THL?
There is something sublime about this little beer corner of Paris, it really should be folded into your beat whenever you are in town (3 timer club here). It could be related to how the indoor/outdoor design spills out into the street when things get jumping. Or, perhaps, it may be the cushy interior which inspires you to linger. Maybe even the fact that it's a barometer for momentum in the local scene. However you slice it, this entry is for those that want to experience a quintessentially French interpretation of craft beer culture. If only they had some substantial food options . . .wait a minute, what's THAT across the street?
