THE FULL POUR
Every city has a beer bar that must be addressed, almost demanding your attention before heading out of town. You know, one of those stops that could easily label your entire trip a failure, should you choose not to make it through their door at least once. Uh huh, these are the places that conjure up images of never-ending bottle lists, dotted with unexpected whales and exotic old favorites to revisit. Perhaps a staff that knows their stuff, and maybe, just maybe, they even know more than you (let's not get crazy, you are amazing at beer). Add in a tap list that purposefully includes a wide variety of temptations from around the world and you must be speaking of The Muted Horn.
Opening in 2016, this newcomer to the Berlin craft beer lineup has quickly made a reputation for itself, reaching well beyond the borders of Deutschland. Anyone lucky enough to visit will notice the well-honed beer instincts on display here, and the Canadian owners have designed quite a satisfying little foxhole for you to nestle into as well. The NeuKölln location may not be convenient for the other touristic endeavors of the Berlin first-timer, but you must find a way to pay them a visit . . . you must.

WHY IS THIS ON THL?
It wouldn't be surprising if The Muted Horn found itself included on the various "Top 10 Europe Beer Bar" lists surfacing from time to time. This statement is not to say that being on one of those lists gives them some sort of extra credibility, or cachet, but the essential ingredients (as listed above) are certainly there. The entire experience at The Muted Horn feels shaped for the especially-enthused (just coined that) beer geeks. It's visible in their rather extensive lambic/gueuze selection and other carefully curated varietals that aren't necessarily prevalent throughout the fatherland. As a case in point, previous sightings have included: Bokkereyder, Cantillon, 3 Fonteinen, The Bruery, Alesmith, Cascade, Lost Abbey and Omnipollo. Check HERE for the latest and greatest. Godspeed as you now scramble to the transit station, weary wanderer.
